Pear Blossom

Madison and I went to a party this weekend where some of the cutest guests were the furry natured kind …         

I never shared photos from my Big Bear trip, we went up there to celebrate my birthday!  well lets be honest, it wasn’t my first destination when thinking about relaxing, I was thinking more of the warm sunny sandy kind but the kids and Joe really wanted to go Big Bear and do some fishing and it happened to be the only time we could get away for a while … so I was happy to do a warm cozy birthday celebration in the mountains.  We had originally expected really warm weather, the forecast the week before was amazing … then out of no where the weather turned to icy cold, snowy, rainy weather (the day we drove up!) I hadn’t even brought warm enough clothes.  The first day was perfect, we visited our favorite pizza place, then we poured into the grocery store to divulge on our inner child and throwin anything sweet and yummy into the cart … we followed that by a movie, warm cookies, popcorn and some chocolate.  The second day we froze our butts off in the snow when we tried to go fishing, bad idea even though I hear fishing is best when it’s the coldest and we did catch 9 fish … still it was freezing!!! 

We had such a great time and the kids had a blast, which in the end is what makes me the happiest!

Ok not the most flattering photo I’ve ever taken but I’ll share since it was so fine playing in the snow with the kids … and being beamed by many snow balls even though I was yelling “watch out for my camera!!!!!!!!!!!”   

I had the pleasure of doing some headshots for a friend and I must say, they came out smashing!  It made me think about how everyone should have the opportunity to just have a portrait session, no reason, no one else in the picture … just them.  My grandmother had many pictures done of herself in her late 20’s, 30’s and they are beautiful!   Yet as adults we rarely take time to do a portrait session just for ourselves, most of the time it’s with our kids or on our wedding day.  Having a great portrait of yourself is a timeless keepsake! 

My life is … non-stop baseball practices, baseball games and tons of baseball talk … we are a baseball family!  It’s been pretty wild these last two weeks, getting ready for summer vacation, school parties, teacher gifts, planning Anthony’s birthday party and all the games.  I think I strive on being too busy … which sucks!  I’m a bit behind on emails (story of my life!) but I’m hoping today will be a chance to get caught up on emails.   

So I’m terrible at taking pictures of Anthony’s games, I get so caught up in cheering that I can’t do anything else!!  I did manage to get some pictures of him pitching during one of his practices … isn’t he so cute!?! 

So this dress just keeps popping up!  I plan on using it one more time, I would love to slice and dice it some more and use it on a teenage girl (someone with some spunk) so if you know of anyone that is super skinny (it’s a size 2) have them email me!  I originally bought this dress off of ebay for $24 dollars, it was super scary looking with long lace arms on it and a neckline that was really tall.  I could see the potential in it, I knew with a little cutting it could be something super killer!  After some snips and tucks it really came together, of course having someone like Nancy to model for you really does help make the dress look dynamite!   After our shoot I just hung it up, not ready to get rid of it, so when the concept for Carlin came to light I was really excited to bring out the dress … after some more snips and tucks (well a lot!) it was ready for a pint sized model!   

I have just updated my new website with additional pictures from my shoot with Rebekah … check it out (it’s in the Avant-Garde gallery)!  She did an awesome job as always, you know a good model by their involvement in the shoot, just like Carlin in my Avant-Garde gallery Rebekah had a vision and was happy to share her ideas with me … a collaborative effort I like to believe!  Madison ALWAYS lets me know her ideas, her feelings on a shoot and she’s quite vocal when she’s unhappy or extremely excited … it always makes for fun shooting!   

So it’s amazing that’s it up … not completely done, lots of picture to be added, some music to upload and then some other little tidbits that got overlooked … but all in all I couldn’t stand not having a site up so I worked as hard as I could to get it up.  These sites take forever to get done, someone please remind me of this next time I decide to get a new site!! LOL

I’ve wanted to capture this shot for a long time …. my neighbors have an old time bathtub (original with the house), it’s totally gorgeous and I’ve always imagined it with over flowing bubbles and little heads popping out of it.  When Heather called me to tell me the kids were all taking a bath together after some fun sprinkler time I grabbed my camera and ran up.  I even added the neighborhood cat Frank … Frank is a fixture on our street and everyone loves him :)       

Can  you imagine having three babies at one time … and only have two arms!  LOL It’s crazy, madness and yet so much fun!  When I got a call from Cindy about photographing her triplets I was so excited, this session was a first for me and my head started spinning with ideas.  The babies were all so amazing the entire time, they were content and happy and even with stood our outfit changes and everything!  We shared a lot of laughs during the shoot and lots of adorable moments.  I had Kelly (baby handling master) come and join me for the shoot … this way we had extra hands for all three babies and OMG was it helpful!   Thanks Kelly :) 

Ok onto these little beauties … the funniest thing was each one of them was a different size, like small, medium and large

So I’m still here … just super busy!  I’ve been working on my website (it’s so time consuming!!!) and I’ve been overwhelmed with kid stuff, I think it’s like this every year right before the start of summer.  I will also be on vacation the entire month of July  … I know … A whole month!!  We are doing some family stuff and then I’ve got two weeks of swim lessons and fun days planned for the kids.  I’ll be back to work August 1st, so any new sessions will be booked at the beginning of August.    

I’ve had some amazing sessions lately, I’ve got some special shoots to share when my new website launches and I’ll be doing some sneak peeks this week.
