So Madison celebrated her 5th birthday this past weekend. We had a VERY small party, 8 girls to be exact. I just wanted a small party where Madison could spend 2 hours playing, laughing and giggling with her bestest little friends … and I wanted it to be all about the girls. I tried to incorporate all the things that Madison loves most … food, dancing, dress up and pictures. She had such a great time, she really was spoiled this year! On her actual birthday she woke up to a pancake breakfast made by her brother (he’s such a sweetie), she went shopping for a special dress and then she got to have a yummy family dinner in her honor.

We broke it down and did some freeze dance
Even Anthony got in on the fun! You should have seen all the kids and all the parents crammed into my little house. Hilarious!!

I’m so happy and honored to be apart of such an amazing fundraising effort. For those of you who don’t know about the Nie Nie Recovery Fund you can find all about it HERE. In a very small nut shell Stephanie and Christian Nielson were in a private plane crash on August 16th, both are recovering from very critical burns and have a long recovery ahead of them. So who is Stephanie Nielson you might ask?? Well, check her out HERE … she has a VERY popular blog that details her life as a mom, wife and friend. The Nielson’s have four children, they are all being cared for by Stephanie’s family. To read updates and info on the events since the crash you have to visit Stephanie’s sisters blog C JANE ENJOY. I love her blog, it’s so fun to read she has such a knack with words (it obviously runs in the family). Great reads all around and a very inspiring story!!!
Cristy from Paper Lili created the cutest shirts for the Nie Nie Recovery fund! Madison got to model one and OMG did she look cute in her top.
** So you LOVE the shirt, gotta have it??? Of course you do, and it’s for a great cause … NIE NIE TEE
I was trying to get Madison to make a heart with her hands, but this is all I got … no love for me! LOL

Madison’s birthday started off a little early this year, we caught her off guard and surprised her on Friday with a puppy!! Let me rewind a bit before I share everything. Madison has been begging Joe and I for a pet for the last six months, it all started when we house sat a rabbit for 3 weeks. Nothing against rabbits or anything but I wasn’t about to get a rabbit, we considered a hamster but realized it was too small and fast for Madison (she really wanted to hold her animal) we also thought about a Guinea pig but that quickly went out the door. Our last thoughts were between a cat and adding a new dog to our family, we really weighed each option for quite a while. When the final decision was made Joe and I were both very happy and excited to have a new member of the family.
Madison was so shocked, so shocked!!! She must have told Joe and I five times “I didn’t know, I can’t believe you got me a puppy, I could cry” she was so happy and so was Anthony. Since that day she has been gushing about her brand new baby (as she calls it) and just loving on her. We had some issues naming her, the kids are way to opinionated! We finally came to a consensus
Duchess Von Clover … the kids loved Duchess and I loved Clover. She’s an adorable little Clover and she does come to any name :)

My little 5 year old
joe said I made a bad styling error in using black on her, he says it looks to much like a boy!
Ok just one more!

My little stars needed a platform to perform on and I found it. This cool amphitheater was the perfect backdrop for the clothes and for my girls, they were in la la land while on stage, you would have thought they were standing in front of crowds of people. Madison was a super sport to model on her birthday, she did have a little incentive though … a promise to buy her a new pair of shoes (do you see the things I get myself into). Thankfully she didn’t find any shoes she loved (she has like 20 pairs of shoes!) but she did find a satin dress in a wild splash of blues and greens which looked really cute on her!
Check out Matilda Jane for these cute dresses!
