This family was such a delight to photograph, even their beautiful dog Flash was a great little subject. We met on a super cold day, it looked like it could rain any second. We finished just before the sun was minutes away from peeking behind the mountains and the cold air was freezing. The weekend before was sunny and hot, you never know CA weather. The girls were troopers in their sleeveless tops and dresses. This entire family is gorgeous, Kim is insanely beautiful and her two kids are beautiful as well. Lucky family!!!

I was so sad today, I had to finally realize that I had to list two of our roosters on craigs list. City of LA does not permit Roosters (only hens) and when we ordered our chickens we blindly ordered and crossed our fingers we’d have more girls then boys, luck would have it we got 50/50. Our two girls are adorable but I really got used to having four chickens. Joe thinks I’m crazy for wanting any more then 2 but really I think we’ll need to order more to make up for our boys leaving us. The chickens are now 9 weeks old and so big! I’ll have to snap some pictures of them in their new nifty chicken coop that Joe built.
We are leaving this weekend, looking forward to finally relaxing. Next week the kids are off. I think I need to come up with a wake up rule, you know since we can sleep past 7 we should! 8:30 would be perfect for me
Katina and her family looked so sharp for their holiday pictures! The kids were dressed to the T and Miss Katina was working her pencil skirt and heels … girl had it going on!

well it took me one good week of working non stop to get caught up, have holiday cards ordered and delivered and get print orders out. Now it’s time to share all the amazing families I’ve been working with!!
The mix of vivid reds and yellows in this series of photos was so beautiful to me.

Last year I had the privilege of photographing Simones family and this year I came back to photograph her entire family. She was hosting Thanksgiving and as a added treat she had a photoshoot for her entire family. She did an amazing job at organizing the entire thing. Her color scheme was perfect (never too matchy but oh so complimentary to each other). The shoot went about as smoothly as a 4 person shoot, it was pretty awesome.

Here is the gorgeous women and mastermind behind the shoot … Simone

Thanksgiving is my busiest weekend of the year! I was shooting back to back this weekend, even shooting a family of 14 (which turned out awesome!). I got to photograph one of my favorite people, ever! Miss Nancy as my kids call her, she’s amazing, both on the inside and outside. She’s a total knock out, I can never get over her beauty, partly because she has such a charming personality that once you get to know her she only looks more beautiful then before. She’s so sweet and extremely kind, more reserved then you would first think and she’s got a heart of gold. She was my first maternity client! OMG I was so nervous that day, freaking out about lighting and positioning. She was so amazing, she just made it all work and from there on she has always been a favorite subject of mine. She’s pregnant again and I’m already planning her maternity shoot in my head. I want something dark while also vivid. Can’t wait!

Can you believe these two are just half the cuteness in this family … four adorable little girls who have the most amazing eyes! Their older twin siblings didn’t make it for this shoot, instead it was all about the little ones. We had a lot of fun, I had to bring Madison to the shoot because she was home from school. Having Madison with me is always an extra challenge, just because she’s not the main focus of the shoot all of sudden she wants to be in every photo! I had to compromise with her on how many she could jump in for. She is a lot of help in making the kids smile and keeping the mood really up which allows me to capture real moments vs forced smiles. So there are pros and cons.

Two boys, two girls … how perfect! This family is so special, not only because they are wonderful friends but also because they are all so warm and loving. From the moment you meet them you feel like you’ve known them forever, conversion just flows so easily and they leave you excited to see them again. This shoot was shot at their new house and the possibilities were endless, it was kinda overwhelming, I was like a kid in a candy store and eye candy was everywhere! I had such a great time and it’s always a treat to photograph these little beauties!

Now that all my maternity clients have started to have their babies I’ve beginning to meet some of the cutest little kids ever! Just yummy!! This holiday season I’ll get to photograph many first time family shoots with the new addition. It’s exciting to see families forming and all the new additions. This little guy was cracking smiles left and right the second I saw him, which I was surprised about because you usually don’t see that until about 8 months and this big guy was only 4 months old. Of course by the time we got him dressed and ready to go he was more focused on the big black thing in front of my face. He gave me some great eye contact

I know so many pregnant women! Soon there will be lots of little babies floating around my various circles of friends. My neighbor was so gracious and made Madison the most awesome birthday cake for our farm theme party. She pulled off all the details and the cake was the center of the party decor. I love her for it and to repay her for her cake duties I shot maternity pictures of her. We did a mini session in her home. I tried to mix in romantic, intimate, classic and elegant.
