Pear Blossom

Just assume when I’m MIA on the blog that I’m having too much fun to post … life has swooped me up and taken me for a ride.  I have tons to post but instead of sitting down and writing a post I’ve been doing other things (procrastinating on what I should do).  Anthony was in a championship basketball game recently and it required tons of practice and lots of games so that kept us all busy.  I’ve had a couple of projects that I’ve been working on (share later).  I’ve had fun late dates with good friends and met new ones.  Springtime is shaping up to be a wonderful season!   I had a really special engagement shoot this weekend.  Because I know all the girls are dying (not an exaggeration!!!)  I’m doing a super stealth sneak with a couple of images … just for my girls ;) 

and guess who I got to see today????  Anyone care to guess who this little love bug is?  

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Baby Star again this year.  They are launching a whole new apparel line and they have the cutest little camp shorts and dresses for babies and toddlers.  I’m a huge fan of their fabric collection, they’ve added some new colors and styles and they couldn’t be cuter!  My favorite new piece is this dress         more tomorrow!     

My good friend Kristin reminded me that I haven’t updated my blog in a while!  She’s right … I’ve been neglectful.  I’ve been shooting some great new pictures for one of my favorite baby brands, Baby Star (www.babystar.com) and I can’t wait to share those.  I had three of the cutest little girls, all at one time!  I’ve also been doing lots of work for Dragonflies and Ladybugs, here are just a couple of the cuties I’ve photographed.                  

When you go to drop your child off at school and you’re greeted by smiles like these you know you’re in the right place.  Ms. Elaine is the sweetest teacher, she’s warm and inviting and she is incredibly patient.  All of Madison’s teachers are super stars in my eyes and I feel so blessed to have each and everyone of them apart of our lives.  I was so excited to do a fun shoot with Elaine and her boyfriend David, we met in Old Town Pasadena and took advantage of the alley ways and wonderful afternoon light.  These two are adorable with a capital A, completely in love and totally fun to be with.   

Elaine officially has the best smile :) 

When little girls (or big girls) swing parasols it’s an instant smile, almost like a smile machine!  I love props that bring out the best in my kids, the things that show their true smiles and giggles.  I shot a session this morning, ran home, worked on the pictures and now I’m blogging them … productive day!!!!  This never happens :)

I’m a sucker for a fun tea party, especially when it consists of lots of yummy treats and fun girl time.  My love for tea time has transpired over to Madison and she equally loves the idea of a tea party with friends.  We incorporated our love for tea into the new line of Matilda Jane clothes.  We arranged the tea as if the girls had set it up on their own one afternoon, grabbing bed spreads and sheets as a backdrops and table cloths and arranging various mis-matched tea cups on the table.  The next step was of course … dress up!!   

I say this every time I photograph a maternity client … I LOVE Maternity shoots!!!  I love every thing about a pregnancy shoot, I love how women feel special and beautiful, I love how their husbands look at them with the glow in their eyes and I love how gorgeous a woman’s body looks when she is expecting.  Pregnancy is a beautiful thing and it should be celebrated!   

I had such a difficult time choosing images to share, really there were so many awesome pictures and I just haven’t had time to edit the entire gallery so I grabbed a handful that inspired me and worked on them.  I may need to revisit this couple on a future post AFTER I’ve edited all the pictures.  We did a little bit of everything on this shoot.   

Jen and David share a special bond, you can tell just by looking at their images.  They are deeply in love!  They are entering a very exciting time in their life and they both couldn’t be happier to be sharing it with each other.   Congrats to both of you guys!!! 

March 1 may seem just like another day to the average blog reader but if you’re a Matilda Jane junkie then you know that today is the day of the new season launch … HOTLINE.

I’ve gotten not one, not two, but many requests about where I got the hair flowers and hats from.  The hats were picked up from Michael’s in the doll section, they are baby top hats. The hair flowers were gorgeous hydrangea flowers from Michael’s and then they were just glued onto ribbon with a hot glue gun … super easy!!
