Pear Blossom

Last year I had the privilege of photographing Simones family and this year I came back to photograph her entire family.  She was hosting Thanksgiving and as a added treat she had a photoshoot for her entire family.  She did an amazing job at organizing the entire thing.  Her color scheme was perfect (never too matchy but oh so complimentary to each other).  The shoot went about as smoothly as a 4 person shoot, it was pretty awesome.

Thanksgiving is my busiest weekend of the year!  I was shooting back to back this weekend, even shooting a family of 14 (which turned out awesome!).   I got to photograph one of my favorite people, ever! Miss Nancy as my kids call her, she’s amazing, both on the inside and outside.  She’s a total knock out, I can never get over her beauty, partly because she has such a charming personality that once you get to know her she only looks more beautiful then before.  She’s so sweet and extremely kind, more reserved then you would first think and she’s got a heart of gold.  She was my first maternity client!  OMG I was so nervous that day, freaking out about lighting and positioning.  She was so amazing, she just made it all work and from there on she has always been a favorite subject of mine.  She’s pregnant again and I’m already planning her maternity shoot in my head.  I want something dark while also vivid.  Can’t wait!

Two boys, two girls … how perfect!  This family is so special, not only because they are wonderful friends but also because they are all so warm and loving.  From the moment you meet them you feel like you’ve known them forever, conversion just flows so easily and they leave you excited to see them again.  This shoot was shot at their new house and the possibilities were endless, it was kinda overwhelming, I was like a kid in a candy store and eye candy was everywhere!  I had such a great time and it’s always a treat to photograph these little beauties!

Now that all my maternity clients have started to have their babies I’ve beginning to meet some of the cutest little kids ever!  Just yummy!!  This holiday season I’ll get to photograph many first time family shoots with the new addition.  It’s exciting to see families forming and all the new additions.  This little guy was cracking smiles left and right the second I saw him, which I was surprised about because you usually don’t see that until about 8 months and this big guy was only 4 months old.  Of course by the time we got him dressed and ready to go he was more focused on the big black thing in front of my face. He gave me some great eye contact

I’m looking to get this week kicked off with a bang!  I’ve got emails to respond too, letters to be mailed and a house full of no kids (whew!)  I’m thinking positively and pushing myself today.  Watch out day! Lets just hope I don’t crash mid way through

I recently shot a family of 5.  Mom was irresistibly beautiful, on the inside and outside!  The kids were so much fun, they really let loose and had a good time which for me is so important.  I love to work with families that have energy and emotion.  They gave it all to me

This season brings school, fall, halloween and lots of family pictures.  As everyone get ready to ring in the new year many jump to get that last minute family portrait before they mark another year done.  I was at costco and couldn’t believe my eyes … christmas stuff!  What gives???  They make me feel so rushed from holiday to holiday.  It did make me realize I need to start working on my holiday portrait season.  I imagine I’ll have many more adorable families just like this … 

I wish more women decided to do maternity shoots after their first baby.  It’s a great way to celebrate your baby, your body and the new beginning of your family.  By including your children into your maternity shoot you’re documenting it not only for yourself but for your children.  At my last shoot I had a perfectly adorable family of 3, Mom decided to bring her two kids along and I’m so glad she did! We had so much fun, they were adorable in every picture they took and they even assisted me when shooting their mom … it was a great way to include them and make them feel special.   

I am updating all my products with new pictures, feaures and adding some great new products that will make your pictures shine.  I recently received an 8×8 coffee table book, this is a custom album that is designed by me the pictures are printed on photographic paper and are attached with hinges to the album.  Albums feature custom covers or simple leather options.    

I cannot wait to share these images with  you all.  This family is such an adorable, sweet and fun family … the girls are completely edible!   Madison has been friends with Ry since they were tiny toddlers, I think their first photo shoot was together when they were months old.  Ry is the perfect balance to Madison, she’s much more calm, a little more conservative and the perfect amount of sweetness.  I really wanted to capture something awesome for Melis and her family, she’s such an amazing friend who has always been there for me, I constantly consult her on business stuff (she’s the perfect partner to anything!!) I have so much fun with her and she deserves a gorgeous family picture.  I think the last time we did family pictures was before she even had her second baby.  Enjoy!  

Baby J has arrived and just like his big sister I was there to photograph him in his first week of his wonderful life.  He is so cute and has the most yummy lips!   We had a lot of fun capturing the new family dynamic and the little guy himself.
